Active and Passive Sentences

Active sentences :

In active sentences, the thing doing the action is the subject of the sentence and the thing receiving the action is the object. Most sentences are active.Active verbs form more efficient and more powerful sentences than passive verbs. This document will teach you why and how to prefer active verbs.

[Thing doing action] + [verb] + [thing receiving action]

Passive sentences :

Passive or commonly known as Voice or Passive Passive Sentence or there is also a call Passive Forms is a form of sentence in English. In the Passive Voice in short definition means a form in which a transitive verb in English grammar subject of the sentence berpelaku as ‘patient’, ie who receives the action of a job. Passive sentences are generally most active in contrast to the sentence or commonly known as Active Voice, this sentence means a form of a transitive verb of the sentence where the subject berpelaku as ‘agents’, namely the action of a job.

To have a passive sentence, you need 3 elements:

BE (is/ are/ was/ were/ been/ be) + VERB + Past Form

was
will be
has been
is
shocked
found

Exam:

Simple Present Tense

Nicky helps Sasa. (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa is helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Present Continuous Tense

Nicky is helping Sasa. (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa is being helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Present Perfect Tense

Nicky has helped Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa has been helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Simple Past Tense

Nicky helped Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa was helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Past Continuous Tense

Nicky was helping Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa was being helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Past Perfect Tense

Nicky had helped Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa had been helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Simple Future Tense

Nicky will help Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa will be helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Nicky is going to help Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa is going to be helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)

Future Perfect Tense

Nicky will have helped Sasa . (Kalimat Aktif)

Sasa will have been helped by Nicky. (Kalimat Pasif)
